Message from Coach Reilly
It was my pleasure coaching a group of kids whose parents should be proud of the way they (most of the time!) respected the game, each other, and the coaches. It would have been great to win the Championship, but the season was still a resounding success when you consider the fun they had and the work ethic they showed. Thanks to the kids and parents for a great year and I hope to see you all next year. Thanks, Steve.

Congratulations to the Whalers!
The Whalers are putting it all together at the right time of the season. They avenged an earlier loss by rallying to defeat Duxbury 8-0 last Saturday. The Whaler defense controlled the Duxbury offense with hard hitting tackles and a couple of great interceptions.

The offense was equally impressive and controlled the game from start to finish. The game culminated in a final drive that most high school teams would be proud of as Quarterback Tim Bulens hit Alex Ferguson in the end zone for the winning TD. Further details will be in the Norwell Mariner this Thursday. "One More" was the rallying cry after the game. "These kids are determined to play their best when it means the most" said coach Steve Reilly. Good Luck in the Super Bowl next weekend against Hanson in West Bridgewater. Game time is 2:00PM. We will be the away team, so wear white shirts for our last game. Practice tonight, Thurs. and Friday regular times.

Game Archives:
The Whalers Varsity lost a tough one 14-0 to Division 2 Hanover. A couple of big plays by Hanover and some unfortunate breakdowns on offense and defense prevented the Whalers from upsetting one of the best teams in the OCYFL. "The kids played with a lot of fire" said Coach Reilly, "if we can eliminate some mistakes we should be able to compete with anybody". Good Luck in the playoffs Whalers. We hope to see you in the Super Bowl!

The JV Whalers lost a tough one last Saturday 22-14. Continuing to improve but just not catching many breaks to break through. Varsity lost 12-0 to a speedy and gambling Hanson team. Hopefully we will meet again and be able to counteract some of the blitzing Defenses they threw at us today. Next up is the JV hosting Dennis-Yarmouth and the Varsity away at Hanover on Saturday night.

The Whalers Varsity beat Pembroke yesterday in impressive fashion 30-6. After a tough loss last week the kids came back and played their best game yet, impressive because they were missing several starters. Tim Bulens made several long passes to Alex Ferguson and John Henry Coyle. Pembroke keyed on Peter Thorbahn but he still had some big gainers. Steve Kulka ran the tough yards. Joe Powers and James Reilly were strong on the line. The Defense played with intensity with Paul Sheppard, Zach Carey, Matt MaCauley and PJ Lagzdins contributing. Trew Palzkill pressured the Qb often, Dan Hilson played played several key positions. Alex Ferguson and Peter Thorbahn had interceptions. Team was bolstered by Chris Holland's strong kicking, and help from Chris Ferraro at Def. End, Charlie Perfetuo made a couple of perfect tackles and Ethan Nyangoda was impressive on the offensive line.
