The Varsity Clippers lost a close one to rival Hanson 24-20 last Sunday. This game went back and forth as both teams traded points. Norwell was very impressive on Offense with three touchdown passes and the defense was solid. Next up is the JV game versus Dennis-Yarmouth at home and the Varsity travels to Hanover. Good Luck Clippers!
The Varsity Clippers lost a tough game yesterday to Pembroke 24-16. The game went back and forth all day but in the end they just came up a little short. Congratulations on a hard fought game.
The Varsity Clippers won in impressive fashion today, 24 to 0 against W. Bridgewater. They returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and never looked back. West Bridgewater closed down their running game, but the Clippers were able to pass their way to a second quarter touchdown. The defense was stingy all day and turned over the Wildcats three times. A great effort by the offense, defense and special teams.
The JV Clippers tied division 2 rival Whitman 6-6 in a very exciting game yesterday. After an opening drive Whitman TD, Norwell regrouped and stuffed the extra point. Norwell got the ball back with about 10 minutes to go in the first half and started eating up yards with off tackle powers and sweeps. When Whitman was getting comfortable playing the run… Norwell completed a 35 yard pass and run to tie the score. The second half was a defensive struggle with hard hits causing multiple turnovers. The final 1 and a half minutes had Whitman at our 8 yard line looking for the go ahead score, but the defense held strong and we walked away with a well deserved tie.
